The Real Bill Hill

The Secret Deal

The Page Bill Hill Didn't Want You to See

A hidden page on Bill Hill's own campaign website laid out a coordinated plan with outside dark money donors to clear his Democratic rival from the race. Then, without explanation, it disappeared.

Bill Hill wants Alaskans to believe he's a scrappy independent taking on the machine. But a page buried on his own campaign website - never linked from the public site, never promoted, and clearly never meant for voters to find - tells a different story.

“The north star goals for the primary are that Bill Hill is the top non-incumbent vote getter in the Primary election and moves on to the general with NO Democratic candidates.”

Hidden sub-page, Bill Hill's campaign website

Read that again. This wasn't campaign spin or a slip of the tongue - it's a written goal, publicly posted, on Bill Hill's own campaign infrastructure: use outside money to push the declared Democrat out of the race entirely, so that voters are left choosing between only Bill Hill and Nick Begich in November.

That's not grassroots independence. That's a plan - coordinated with the same network of out-of-state dark money donors already documented on our Follow the Money page - to decide, before a single Alaskan cast a vote, who would even be on their ballot.

Page Hidden

Then It Disappeared

Sometime after this page was discovered, it was quietly removed from Bill Hill's website. No explanation. No correction. No acknowledgment it ever existed.

If there's nothing to hide, why hide it?

Bill Hill didn't clear the field on his own. He had help - from dark money donors in Washington, DC, working from a plan his own campaign wrote down, then tried to erase.
